Most diets are aimed at weight loss, heart health or a generally healthier life. A certain food plan, however, has a completely different purpose: increasing fertility.
The fertility diet that was named the 11th best diet of the year was created to help women get pregnant more easily.
The diet is not new, but it is based on a 1991 study of 18,000 women. Here are some principles of this diet:
Fertility diet. A diet rich in healthy fats, whole grains and plant-based proteins can help improve ovulation. These foods can also help regulate blood glucose and insulin levels, which play an important role in a woman’s fertility. In other words, a diet rich in saturated fat, carbohydrates and sugar can affect the body’s ability to conceive, so these foods should be avoided.
A very important element for fertility is also folic acid, which can be found in greens, fruits, nuts and seeds.
It has also been shown that women who consume high-fat milk as well as full-fat cheese and yogurt are also more likely to get pregnant than those who consume low-fat foods.
