Kid, go out and play! Yes but what? Erm, so … so that you don’t falter when trying to answer, we have lots of outdoor game ideas for you that will quickly get young and old moving. After all, fresh air and exercise are the best combinations. Our 59 outdoor games can be played in your own garden, in the city park, in the schoolyard, and sometimes even on a large balcony.
Playing together promotes motor skills, practices team and fair play and teaches that winning is great, but not the most important thing in a game. If the interaction then also takes place outside in the fresh air, there can hardly be anything better for the child’s development.
Outdoor Games: New ideas for children’s outdoor games
Playing and romping outside is the greatest thing for children. Catching and playing spikeball or a bit of kickball with friends is usually enough for them. But if you suggest these great game ideas, then even the beloved football is quickly forgotten. Here are great outdoor games for children: lots of exercises included.
After all, the urge to move needs to be lived out to the full – especially when we have had to sit inside so much in the last few months and in Corona times the action (in the form of physical education, romping around in the daycare garden and playground adventures) was badly neglected.
Small children can actually linger quite well inside. But even the little ones are happy when they go outside and can romp around without worrying about losses. With our game ideas, the little ones are guaranteed not to get bored and they even train their motor skills and coordination.
Four-year-olds are full of energy. And when you think you’ve finally tired of playing them, they really turn it up. Where do children of that age get this energy from (and can we parents get something out of it too?)? With our outdoor games, however, you are guaranteed to get every child exhausted and they will fall asleep happy and satisfied (and very quickly) in the evening.
Sometimes there is no space and no time for wild games, then you can gamble (if your child is old enough) …
Even at the age of five, the energy does not let up and there is also the urge to learn and discover something new every day. No problem with our outdoor children’s games for children five and up!
Many children go to school at the age of six and that also means sitting still a lot! Every child is happy about balancing action outdoors. We have some great ideas for you:
Of course, we have also collected a few exciting outdoor play ideas for the older children, which are fun for everyone. And of course, mum and dad can play too.
Wrapped up warm, many of our outdoor children’s games can also be used in winter. You should just make sure that it’s not smooth and slippery outside and that your little ones are dressed to protect against wind and cold. Children especially like to go outside when it snows. And snow brings with it very special play opportunities.
In the corona crisis, even the little ones had to keep their distance. Fortunately, the situation has eased a bit now, but you never know what ace Corona has up its sleeve. That’s why you’ll find our collection of outdoor children’s games here, which can also be played at a distance. Maybe not a bad idea the next time you have a cold or flu. Here are our favorite games where your children don’t get too close and still have a lot of fun:
Ball games by far
Ball games are generally good games when you need to keep your distance. For the very little ones, the ball is rolled back and forth while sitting at a minimum distance of 1.5 m. The older children can easily throw over longer distances and accordingly stand further apart.
