It is also good to avoid oral contraceptives or other antiepileptic drugs, which can produce craniovascular malformations, malformations of nails and fingers.

Also sulfonamides (biseptrin), quinolones (ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin), doxycillin, antithyroid drugs, coumarin anticoagulants that can cause bleeding (acenocoumarol, warfain), aspirin, morphine and aminoglycosides, such as gentomycin.

Although there is a tendency to put vitamin A on this list, which is totally prohibited during the beginning of pregnancy, it can be administered towards the end of pregnancy. Be careful, however, that vitamin A medicines or supplements use natural vitamin A (the one found in fish oil), not the synthetic form. It can be administered very well in the third trimester of pregnancy, when there is no question of malformations. Vitamin A is very good for the development of the skin, bones, brain and immune system.
